Where is Restylane or Restylane-L used?
The Restylane family can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines (nasolabial folds), lips, adding cheek volume, under eyes (tear trough deformity) that may cause black circles. This product can also be used for lipstick lines, the corners of the mouth and muppet lines or marionette lines that extend downward from the corners of the mouth to jawline as well as forehead lines and furrows and the correction of small bumps or irregularities on the nasal bridge. Perlane and Perlane-L are large sized volume fillers and you should ask your physician which is best for you.
Who should not get the Restylane family of products such as Restylane and Restylane-L?
The Restylane family of products should not be used by people with previously bad allergic reactions, particularly to certain microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria; by people with previous bad allergies to drugs who have required in hospital treatment; or by people with bleeding disorders. Restylane-L and Perlane-L should also not be used by people with a known allergy to lidocaine.
